Hello there, does anyone here go to, work at, or own a workshop where I could do work on a project car for a couple months? I want to do a Mercedes V8 W123 build but I don't have the space to do it. That's all I need. If anyone has ideas too that would be great.

Thanks!

That is an awesome swap idea. I'm in NYC so if you need any help let me know!

You could theoretically rent a storage unit...

The swap itself could drag on for so long and the expense of it is so immense I want to exercise all other low cost or free options beforehand. I know it sounds cheap but boy do Mercedes parts add up... lol

I want a 6.9. They're the bestest. What kind of V8 you looking to put in the W123?

I would like to swap a Euro M117 V8 into a W123 Estate. That ranges from the 500 to the 560 I believe and what I plan on using is the 560 V8. A M116 or M100 may be more fitting but yield less power and are both very heavy. The M116 3.5 and 4.5 are simpler but are down on power and the M100 is crazy expensive to maintain(that's the engine in the 600, 6.3, and 6.9). The good parts about the M117 is that it has good power, is very light, and best of all, has available AMG parts!!!

Do you have the engine?

Erm no, that's a hard part but... I don't have a workspace yet so I have no room for a stray engine to lay around.
